One of the biggest problems with being young is you know everything and yet you know nothing.  I remember when I was 18 teen I was just trying to be a really good basketball player in high school because it was the only place I ever felt normal.  The rest of the time I was a guy with too much emotion that said the wrong thing and never was really close to anyone.  It was just hard for me to make relationships because inside I was just trying to figure me out. 

That is the problem with emotional people.  This world tells you from a very young age that emotion is bad.  There is something wrong with you if you feel a lot so in many ways it takes emotional people longer to find the peace inside they so badly want.  I see this all the time when I observe emotional young people with parents getting all angry that their daughter or son isn't more like other kids.  I try to explain that is just a result of not being able to deal with the feelings they have inside.  That when a young person gets mad, has a fit usually it has nothing to do with anyone but not being able to understand or handle the craziness inside.

This is part of the reason I am so patient with Rocco although I must admit to feeling discouraged.  He is at that crazy age of 18-19 and is living the little dream of getting up at clubs and being a cover band.  He also is trying to deal with finishing school.

I want to scream at him and say you are going to regret not taking school seriously cause you are fucked in this world without a good education.  You are destined to work some dead end job 6 days a week, 12-18 hours a day just to make a living to feed your family.  Your kids are fucked cause they won't have good schooling, parents that do not go to university generally do not have kids that go to university and in mexico that leaves few options. 

See Rocco wants to be in the Rock n roll hall of fame and to be honest he might have the natural voice for it.. but I just don't know if he has the drive.  I have been doing this web stuff for the past 3 years and have seen lots of guys like Rocco who say they want to be something great but are not willing to make the sacrifices to make it happen.  I am not even talking about anything big.. just save photos in a shared folder I can get to.  Do a few cover songs with just him and the mic in front of a web cam in his room and save it to a file.  Stupid simple.  Any idiot can do that, it takes so little work but it seems like Rocco is more interested in being a cover band I guess. 

I don't know.. he loves to give me empty promises.  Do I give him an ultimatum where I say listen you have deadlines now and if you do not deliver I am going to shutdown the social cobweb I made for you online cause it makes me look bad to continue to put effort into someone who isn't willing to put effort into himself... who always has a million excuses as to why he can't do something.. actually most times he does not actually have excuses.. he simply does not seem to have any idea of keeping his word...

Last Saturday he was suppose to work with me.. I waited online for him to take the bull by the horns and he didn't even email me.. I must admit to being at my wits end.. do I really want to invest anymore time and effort into someone who doesn't seem to care about his future??

I know I am harsh and I am not saying I do not like the guy... I just need him to grow up and become a man.  I need him to be someone whose word is his honor.. who when he says he will do something he will do it and I need him to listen... to be coached persay.. cause right now even though he doesn't have his own stuff ready it wouldn't take very much work to just sing in his room..

So we will see... maybe I should just try to find another person who can do hardrock... who is serious about being successful.. I am loyal to a fault.. I wonder how this will turn out.. the thing you learn when it comes to people is few actually want to succeed enough to make the sacrifices.. and success in music, in life takes everything you got..

A lot of people struggle with the expectations of those who care about them.  You are angry at your parents and teachers because they want you to do well.  It may get frustrating but at the same time they do it because they care.  You are not alone in what your going through.  It is actually very common where parents say you can be anything you want until you turn 18teen then they say you should do this or that. 

My suggestion to you is don't make it emotional.  From what I can tell you have trouble controlling your emotions and so this will take work.  Let them have there say and Luis they are not wrong.  You cannot depend on just your music.  That is a 1 in a million shot considering you never send me any of the media I ask for..argg...

I am not saying give up on music either.. just have a plan B.. always have a plan B in life cause you never know what will happen. 

If you couldn't do music then what would you do?  Think about it..

Also a lot of times you talk bigger than you are which is what young people do.. nothing wrong with this but it makes it hard for parents and teachers to believe in you.  We are all like that in highschool because we think we have to be all cool.. but in a year you will get out of school and realize everything in highschool was a joke..

So what I want you to do this weekend is research any wheres in the world 5 things you might enjoy doing other than music and then find out what type of education it takes to do that.  I know it is boring but the whole idea is to see what is out there...

Don't worry we will still work on getting your music going.. but have a plan B..

This isn't about your band at all.  Quit being scared and just let me guide you.  The first thing I want to do is clarify our working relationship cause I do not do contracts.  They cost a fortune and frankly I don't want to control you.  I want to empower you to be able to market and manage yourself.  Be in control of your own destiny because that my friend is what being free is about.  Travel the world, meet people, figure out who you are away from home.  Right now that is what you need.  To get away from it all and yah you might feel bad about your brother but tell him to keep dancing, keep being himself and when he turns 18 if he gets into college he can come live with you.. Who knows that is just one fate... the whole idea is I want you to be in control of your own fate...

Now as I mentioned before 10% is what I got when I googled how much do agents take.  I figure that should be 10% after cost.. meaning we are just talking profit.. we will use a percentage of money brought in to develop tools online to help an indie artist succeed online.  automate a lot of the different things.  Focus on building really good and inexpensive branding tools build around my cobweb theme. 

I want the % to go lower in terms of equity because I want this to be your business and so the logic is once we get to profit you will be learning how to do it all yourself. 

So I figure after a year say starting the date of the email whatever the fuck that is.. my equity drops to 5%.  After 3 years it drops to 1% and then I become a silent partner and you have the option of hiring me to manage your marketing for a fee of course..lol..

But the whole idea is this should be your business.  You are young, smart and passionate.  Instead of going to school for something you don't want to do why not learn a piece of software that could be a job.  Photoshop is a job.  Photoshop in Spanish is a job..

So task one.  I want you to mail me 10 pictures of you.  Don't respond unless they are attached...

stop stressing your parents.  affairs can happen because men get horny, endorphins get released.. you feel no wrong until after.  It is not demons or anything.  just happens cause your human.  the past will drag you down.  Just focus on your life, controlling your fate.  People get divorced all the time because only 10% of all relationship keep the passion.  It makes no sense...

I would suggest having a serious talk with your dad. Keep it constructive.  It has nothing to do with you.  Men are dogs.. your pops needed to masturbate more...lol

Often the times we act poorly in life is when we are most insecure, confidence is low.  wen you get older it is nice to be noticed.  don't hate your dad... talk to him.
